Tracking Nutrients and Calories with Nutritonix

In this video, I’m going to show you how to track your calories, exercise and nutrients in Nuttrionix, a free fitness app available on the Apple Store, Google Play, and on the nutritionix.com website.

When I was working on fixing my allergies, I tracked my nutrients to make sure I got enough calcium without drinking milk, potassium from green vegetables and avocados, and iron without eating red meat.

Other times, I was making sure I got enough protein to build muscle. MyFitnessPal gives recommendations for nutrient requirements for protein, carbohydrates, fat, fiber, sugar, potassium, calcium, iron, Vitamin A, Vitamin K, Vitamin D, and Vitamin C. I tend to skew slightly higher on protein than what's recommended, but the suggestions are a great start.
